I’m Avery Sheppard—photographer, storyteller, mother, and quiet observer of life’s most sacred in-between moments. Before photography, I was a labor and delivery nurse—a season that taught me the quiet strength of women, the miracle of presence, and the beauty found in beginnings. Those lessons never left me. Today, they guide how I move through the world and the way I photograph it—with reverence, intention, and a deep love for the unscripted. I believe the most meaningful images aren’t the perfectly posed ones, but the fleeting glances, soft hands, windblown hair, and laughter caught in the breath between words. My work is slow, soulful, and deeply rooted in connection—meant to feel like memory, like poetry, like coming home. When I’m not behind the camera, I’m living a story of my own—married to my best friend of over a decade and raising two little ones, with another soon to join us. Family is everything to me.
